Albert Brouwer

Albert Brouwer studied at the Conservatory of Utrecht with Abbie de Quant under whose guidance he finished his studies with honors in 1994 for his diploma Performing Musician .
Since 1998 Albert is solo flutist with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (MA,USA) and since 1999 solo flutist of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (VT,USA). In addition he regularly substitutes in other orchestras including the Orchestre Symfonique de Montreal.
This season Albert performs the flute concerto by Liebermann with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and next season will play the Katchaturian flute concerto in Springfield.
Albert is also very active in the area of chamber music. As a member of the Hortus Musicae ensemble and in a duo with piano he regularly performs in Canada as well as in the United States and often performs for various radio stations in both countries.
Albert is flute docent at the Bishop University in Sherbrooke, Canada.
